Assemblyman recognized by New Jersey Chamber of Commerce for his legislative efforts to promote a more favorable business climate in New Jersey
Singleton, who has sponsored several pieces of legislation to help foster business growth and innovation, is being recognized for his work in support of New Jersey's business community.
"I am honored and humbled by this wonderful acknowledgement. A strong business community is vital to our economic growth and our success as a state. That is why I have sponsored legislation to help small businesses thrive, and encourage more collaboration between our academic institutions and businesses," said Singleton (D-Burlington). "It's important to work with allies who are knowledgeable and invested so our legislative efforts have the intended impact. I thank the chamber for their contributions to these efforts, and for this honor. I will continue to work to ensure our businesses get the support they need so we can reach our shared vision of a stronger New Jersey."
NJ State Chamber of Commerce President Tom Bracken lauded Singleton's advocacy during the 217th Legislative Session, which he said helped the organization with its priorities to improve the economy, retain and create jobs and enhance the overall business climate in New Jersey.
"We especially recognize and appreciate Assemblyman Singleton's support for the replenishment of the New Jersey Transportation Trust Fund and the passage of the comprehensive tax reform package that will go a long way in achieving those priorities," said Bracken.
In addition to these measures, Singleton has sponsored a bill (A-322) to expand the scope of the New Jersey Regulatory Flexibility Act to help lessen the economic burden of state regulation on small businesses. He also sponsored the law (A-4432) to encourage more collaboration between businesses and institutions of higher education to help spur job creation, and the law (A-33) to provide assistance to certain individuals who own or are starting a microenterprise business.
The awards reception will be held at the Bank of America: Hopewell Conference Center in Pennington on Wednesday, October 11. For more information, visit the chamber's website.
