Helping Homeless Cats In Palmyra

July is National Lost Pet Prevention Month, which raises awareness for pet owners and others about how to prevent homeless and lost pets.

For our July “Serve with Senator Singleton” event we will partner with Purrsonal Space – South Jersey’s Cat Lounge in Palmyra, which rescues homeless and lost cats in the community. Specifically, we will ask our volunteers to make tear-away collars for the homeless cats that currently reside at the Lounge, and those that will be assisted by them in the future. Volunteers will help assemble collars using simple techniques. This event will be held at the Lounge, 1005 Market Street in Palmyra on Saturday, July 27, 2019 and we are asking volunteers to help from 10am-12pm. This activity is appropriate for young volunteers as well.

Purrsonal Space, which opened in February 2018, has helped find homes for nearly 30 cats in the community. With the help of compassionate, nurturing foster families, PURRsonal Space saves homeless cats from the shelter and intervenes when cats lose their homes.  The Lounge provides a safe, temporary residence in a cage-free environment, with love, enrichment and socialization amongst other cats and humans. Serving as a visual and hands-on educational center, the Lounge hosts various events, classes, and activities for children and adults alike to help raise awareness of animal welfare issues.

Space is limited to 20 volunteers, so RSVP today!
