Sweeney-Singleton Bill Would Fund Pay Hike For Direct Care Workers

Trenton – The Senate today approved legislation sponsored by Senate President Steve Sweeney and Senator Troy Singleton that would provide $16.5 million to fund pay increases for the direct care workers who provide care for the disabled. The additional funds would increase the existing appropriation of $40 million this year to a total of $56.5 million.
